Join Us for a Day of Action

This is your opportunity to connect with legislators as they make important policy decisions that impact students and the education profession.

Learn more about current legislation that affects your work, your students, and your retirement. The legislative briefing will be followed by an opportunity to connect with legislators at the Statehouse.

You DO NOT need any experience with legislation to attend this event. It is a great way to come together with other social workers to promote the importance of our profession.

All attendees will receive a free shirt!

Agenda

• 8:30 AM - Arrive at the Indiana State Library / check in at The History Reference Room (Room 211)
• 8:45 - 9:45 AM - Legislative Advocacy Training
• 9:45 AM - Depart to Indiana State House
• 10:00 - 10:45 AM - Indiana Coalition for Public Education (ICPE) / INSSWA will make 5 min remarks (3rd floor)
• 10:45 AM - Meet on 3rd floor to check in with Donna Holloway / gather in caucus room
• 11:00 AM - Meet with Senator Fady Qaddoura in the 3rd floor Senate Democrats Caucus Room (accommodates 20 people). Please speak with our receptionist (Tyler Hempfing is the legislative assistant for Senator Qaddoura)
• 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM - Lunch on your own
• 1:00 - 2:00 PM - Observe Legislative Session
