Midwest Council

The Midwest School Social Work Council actively supports eleven member state organizations in promoting the professional development of school social work practice. Each of the eleven states which include Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Kentucky send three representatives to the council which holds two meetings annually. Representative includes the state association president, a school social work practitioner and the state school social work consultant. The Indiana School Social Work Association is a member in good standing of the Midwest Council.

Each fall, the Midwest Council sponsors a conference hosted by one of the member states. These regional conferences allow for professional growth and networking among school social workers.

The 41st Midwest School Social Work Conference, "School Social Workers Lift Student to Succeed", will be hosted by the School Social Workers Association of Missouri at the Clayton Sheraton in St. Louis, Missouri. The call for workshop proposals is open through February 1, 2008 and may be found by clicking here.
